History
E-Yuk-Pen was born where all padjal are born- the Black Shroud. Early in life he began to hear and see voices and people that others couldn't, and eventually realized he was communicating with the dead.At age 25, after a youth spent being misunderstood, the suspicions of necromancy from others in Stillglade Fane came to a head. He fled the Shroud before the elementals could claim him and never returned. He landed in Ul'dah, where he joined the thaumaturge's guild and began studying anything and everything he could find on necromancy.Ultimately he disagreed with the guild's profit-driven death practices and left to travel Thanalan and La Noscea, meeting disparate peoples and offering his services as both healer and mortician.E-Yuk joined The Immortal Flames' mercenary troops pre-Calamity and was present at Carteneau, but doesn't remember what happened there.Post-Calamity, lost and confused, E-Yuk settled at the Church of Saint Adama Landama and remained there.
Hooks
Wandering Padjal - Before the Calamity there were murmurs of a padjal wandering Eorzea. Shouldn't they be in the Shroud?
Masked Stranger - Have you seen a masked padjali stranger skulking about the twelveswood? What's he doing out here alone, and why the secrecy?
Spiritbox - Do you have a spirit hanging onto you? E-Yuk will be able to hear, see, or sense it. [Note: I will never come up with a ghost for anyone without being asked. It's too big of a character choice.]
Exhausted - Those able to sense aether will see that, for a padjal, E-Yuk is often running frighteningly low.
Aged - Post-Calamity, E-Yuk looks a little older than even Kan-E-Senna. Are those bags under his eyes? A grey hair? How unusual.
Curiosity Kills - E-Yuk dedicates the time he doesn't spend working to finding an explanation for his abilities, or at least other people like him. This can lead him to dangerous places.
